HOLLY, Mich. – The Village of Holly has issued a village-wide boil water advisory effective immediately following a water main break on Marion Drive.
The advisory issued on Monday (July 20) applies to all Village water customers as a precaution while crews work to address the issue and restore normal water system operations.
Residents are advised to boil tap water before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, preparing food, or providing water to pets.
Officials recommend bringing water to a rolling boil for at least one minute and allowing it to cool before use. Bottled water may also be used.
Tap water remains available for bathing, showering, laundry, and general cleaning.
Residents should avoid swallowing the water while bathing or showering.
The Village Department of Public Works is working to repair the water system.
The boil water advisory will remain in effect until required water-quality testing confirms the water is safe for consumption.
Village officials said residents should not assume the advisory has ended until an official notice is issued.
