OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – To help alleviate waiting times Oakland County will implement express lanes at early voting sites.
Express lanes will be only for voters bringing in an absentee ballot to the site.

Michigan’s primary election will happen on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
In Oakland County early voting begins Saturday, July 25.
In 2022, Michigan voters approved Proposal 2022-2, allowing for a minimum of nine days of early voting in federal and state elections.
According to the Oakland County Clerk/ Register, August elections are the most likely to have spoiled ballots from voters crossing over party lines within their voting.
“Feeding your absentee ballot through the tabulator yourself at your early voting site gives you the opportunity to correct any mistakes on the spot. You’ve taken the time to fill out your ballot, make sure your vote counts,” said Oakland County Clerk/ Register of Deeds Lisa Brown.
Absentee ballots can also be hand delivered in a signed and sealed envelope to their local clerk’s office or their community’s secure ballot drop box.
To be counted, ballots must be received by clerks no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 4.
