WARREN, Mich. – Two people are injured after a fire at a motel in Warren Wednesday night.
The fire happened at a two-story motel in the 23000 block of Dequindre Road near Nine Mile Road at around 11 p.m. on July 22.

Warren police arrived at the scene first and tried to enter a first-floor room. However, they were forced back by heavy smoke and fire.
Fire crews arrived moments later, entered the first-floor apartment and found a man in the motel room.
Firefighters removed the man from the motel while bringing the fire under control. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
A woman was later found outside the motel with injuries after she jumped from a second-floor walkway. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
