OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A Livonia man is facing multiple charges after allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.
Jeremiah Michael Bishop, 33, was charged with four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Each count is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began on June 18 after the child’s grandfather reported sexual abuse allegations involving his daughter’s boyfriend.
Detectives interviewed the child’s mother, who provided them with text messages allegedly sent by Bishop admitting to the abuse. The child also reported to detectives that there were multiple incidents of abuse.
Bishop was arrested on July 23 at his mother’s home.
He was arraigned on July 24 on the criminal sexual conduct charges and was given an $850,000 cash surety bond. He is required to wear a GPS tether upon release.
Bishop is scheduled to return to court on Aug. 7 for a probable cause conference.
