Monroe County man accused of sexually assaulting children

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – A Monroe County man is facing criminal sexual conduct charges involving young victims.

John Steven Sorovetz was charged with one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes and four counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office on Aug. 6, Sorovetz turned himself in after he was told he had outstanding warrants.

There could be more victims, as the sheriff’s office noted there was a “pattern of behavior throughout this lengthy investigation.”
