Southfield, MI – UPDATE (9:55 AM, Sunday, August 9, 2026): We’re following breaking news out of Southfield where police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead, and a third person injured.
This happened on 9 Mile Road near Ascension Providence Hospital at Hidden Gem Restaurant.

Police arrived on scene around 3:30 AM Sunday morning, and found one person suffering from a gunshot wound. They later died at the scene.
Two other victims were taken to the hospital, one of them had been shot multiple times, and later died from his injuries.
A third victim suffered a graze wound.
According to Southfield Police, at this time, there is no threat to the public. An investigation into what happened remains ongoing.
