LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. – A missing 4-year-old has died after an apparent drowning in Genoa Township Saturday evening.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office said the 4-year-old child, who was nonverbal and had autism, was missing for an unknown amount of time on Aug. 8 after leaving home through a broken screen door in the area of Grand Beach Lake.
When deputies responded just after 6 p.m., a perimeter was set up, and several resources were activated to help search for the child.
After about a 90-minute search on land and water, the child was found in about 4 feet of water.
The child was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
