Oakland County deputies searching for boater who struck, injured swimmer in Pontiac Lake

60-year-old Fenton woman injured

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Deputies are searching for the operator of a boat that struck a woman who was swimming in Pontiac Lake.

The crash happened just after 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 8 on the eastern part of Pontiac Lake near Walt’s Point Marina in White Lake Township.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, a 60-year-old Fenton woman was swimming in Pontiac Lake when she was struck by a passing boat. She was taken to a local hospital suffering injuries to her back and numerous lacerations.

Investigators are searching for the boat’s operator. Witnesses described the vessel as a white speedboat or jet boat with dark accent striping. The operator is described as a man between 50 and 60 years old.
