Michigan man, 81, dies after iceboat crash
WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI – A Michigan man is dead after the iceboat he was sailing crashed Sunday at Pontiac Lake Recreation Area, FOX 2 Detroit reports. Dan Erwin, Campbell, 81, of Oakland County, was sailing a 27-foot iceboat (a sailing craft supported on metal runners) when he crashed shortly before noon about 100 yards from shore, the report said. Authorities believe Campbell hit his head in the crash; he was wearing a helmet and face shield. Campbell was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the report said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

As she was walking up to the building, she saw a plastic bag on the ground and inside the bag she could see piles of money. Although she was in need of a vehicle-- her car broke down last year -- Gordon contacted police and returned the money immediately. Once the $25,000 goal is met, the campaign is going to work with a local car dealer to purchase Gordon’s new car.

Wright and Morrow were arrested following an investigation that started when police received a call Saturday morning regarding bodies being found at the Cedarbrook Estates Mobile Home Park. When police arrived, they discovered Duckworth and Mancuso near a pond in the park. The victims were deceased and had been shot multiple times according to police. Fox 2 reports that friends of the victims say the four people involved were acquaintances.

Woman, 59, dead after struck by vehicle while walking to work
WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI – A woman died this morning after she was hit by a vehicle while walking work in Oakland County. The 59-year-old was across the street from the Speedway where she worked around 6 a.m. today, Oct. 21, when she was struck by a vehicle, WXYZ Detroit reports. She died at the scene after attempts to save her were unsuccessful. The driver remained at the scene and was questioned by White Lake Township Police officers, the report said. WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Lakeland High School in White Lake Township was dismissed early Monday due to elevated levels of carbon monoxide, school officials said. “We are working with officials at the White Lake Fire Department to properly handle the situation,” officials said in a release. Those who ride buses waited for transportation at the field house, where carbon monoxide levels were deemed safe, authorities said. Routine water testing reveals high lead, copper levels in Oakland County

Drunken Michigan teacher arrested at school after blowing 4 times legal limit
WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A teacher at a White Lake Township high school was arrested Wednesday after he blew four times the legal limit. Administrators believed the 44-year-old Lakeland High School teacher was drunk at about 8 a.m. Police had a warrant for the teacher in connection with operating while intoxicated and driving on a suspended license Oct. 4, 2018. The teacher, who is from West Bloomfield, is expected to be arraigned Thursday on charges related to driving on a suspended license and operating while intoxicated. The staff member will not be on campus while this matter is pending.
