EAST LANSING, Mich. – Former Michigan State University resident physician Arpit Saxena was arraigned Friday in connection with a sexual assault investigation and is being held on a $2 million bond.
Saxena was arraigned Sept. 25, 2026, in East Lansing’s 54B District Court.
He was ordered to surrender his driver’s license and passport and prohibited from having contact with the victims, according to MSU’s Department of Police and Public Safety.
Saxena remains in the Ingham County Jail pending a bond hearing scheduled for Monday, Sept. 28.
MSU police are asking former patients treated by Saxena between July 1, 2024, and April 7, 2025, to come forward if they experienced conduct during their care that made them feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or concerned.
Police have established a phone hotline and email tip line for former patients who want to file a police report, ask questions about available resources, or discuss support options.
The investigation remains ongoing.
