Man faces possible life sentence after being caught stealing money, candy in Bloomfield Twp.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man facing charges after breaking into office buildings in Bloomfield Township could face life in prison if convicted.

Bonnie Williams, 51, of Pontiac, is facing breaking and entering and larceny charges after a break-in April 22 at an office building on Telegraph Road, police said.

Amy Kesteloot, a manager at the office, said she reviewed security cameras after a co-worker was convinced a bank bag with $50 was missing.

Security footage showed a man rifling through drawers before taking the bank bag.

He didn't just steal the bag, though.

"He must've been hungry because he broke into our vending machine," Kesteloot said.

He broke the lock on a vending machine and took some candy and $75 in change.

The man also broke into other office buildings, police said, but he was caught because he returned to the building with the vending machine several times.

Williams has previous felony convictions. Under Michigan's four-strikes law, he could face a life sentence in prison if found guilty.
