Missing Michigan woman found dead; Police looking for man in murder probe

After a woman who was reported missing last week in Michigan was found dead on Tuesday, police are searching for a man they are calling a person of interest in a murder investigation.

Mollie Schmidt, 33, of Plainfield Township, was found dead Tuesday from an apparent gun shot wound after being reported missing on Aug. 21, WOOD-TV reports. Her body was found in Wyoming, in West Michigan.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man named Yenly Garcia, considered a person of interest in her disappearance and murder.

Garcia, 44, is from Wyoming, Michigan, and is described as 5-foot-10 and about 200 pounds with black hair and distinct tattoos on his face. Police said he was previously driving a black 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 truck with the Michigan plate ELW6780. See his photo below.
