Milford police pursuit of stolen vehicle ends with 1 dead, 2 injured

MILFORD, Mich. – A police pursuit in Milford Sunday morning ended with a crash that killed one man.

According to police, they attempted to stop a vehicle that had been reported stolen near South Milford Road and East Huron Parkway around 4 a.m.

A chase ensued when the same officer saw the stolen vehicle again.

The chase ended with a crash on westbound I-96 when the driver lost control in the curve at Kensington Road and rolled over, police said.

Three men in their mid-20s to early-30s were riding in the vehicle. One man was ejected from the vehicle, police said; the other two had to be extricated.

The men were transported to hospitals. One died of his injuries.

Police are investigating to determine which man was driving the car. A DNA sample from the airbag may need to be taken to determine who the driver was, police said.

If the driver survived the crash, he may face charges.
