DETROIT – Framber Valdez and A.J. Hinch have been suspended after the Detroit Tigers’ dust-up with the Boston Red Sox.

Valdez was given a six-game suspension for hitting Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story with a pitch on Tuesday night.

Valdez plunked Story immediately after giving up back-to-back home runs. He was ejected from the game after allowing 10 runs -- seven of which were earned.

Now a Tigers rotation that’s already lost Tarik Skubal, Casey Mize, Reese Olson, Justin Verlander, Troy Melton, and Jackson Jobe to injury will also be without Valdez for one turn.

Hinch was given a one-game suspension and will serve it Wednesday night.

After losing the first two games of the home series against the last-place Red Sox, the Tigers have fallen to 18-19 on the season, though they remain tied atop the AL Central Division.
