Now the next step for the building that has housed Bel-Mark Lanes on Jackson Road for 46 years has the official stamp of approval from Scio Township leaders. On Tuesday, March 8, the township board unanimously OK’d plans to covert the bowling alley into a Tesla dealership that developers say will be one of the largest in the Midwest. The proposal from Ohio-based Dealership Acquisitions encountered little resistance in front of the Scio Township Planning Commission in late December. The electric vehicle hub is permitted under current zoning, and township officials are obligated to approve the project if it meets local standards, township planning consultants said as the commission voted to OK the plan. I hope someone else steps forward and comes up with another bowling alley.
