The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from Toledo Police to locate a Toledo man, 43, who was seen on a surveillance camera taking a Champion generator valued at $500 from the Tractor Supply store in Lambertville last week without paying for the unit.

LEELANAU COUNTY, MI – Police have identified a Michigan man who was electrocuted while working on a wood burning project in Leelanau County. Deputies from the Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office and Suttons Bay EMS responded to the scene to find Champion unresponsive. “Those who knew Paul, even in passing, lost a shining light in their lives. We know Paul will be loved in heaven as much as he was loved on earth,” his obituary reads. Paul’s love and friendship, kindness and generosity, will be deeply missed by family and his extended family of friends.”It was determined that Champion had been working on an art/wood burning project when something went wrong, causing the electrocution, police said.

Naomi Osaka becomes co-owner of women's soccer team North Carolina Courage
Tennis superstar Naomi Osaka just became a part owner of National Women's Soccer League team the North Carolina Courage, the team announced Thursday. The 23-year-old said the support she's had in her career from women inspired her decision to invest in the Courage. Osaka is the first investor in the Courage since team chairman Steve Malik acquired and relocated them to North Carolina in 2017, according to a news release. Both the Courage and Osaka have been recently successful in their respective sports. Osaka won the U.S. Open in 2018 and 2020 and the Australian Open in 2019.
