Dream realized: Rochester Hills native named NASA flight director
So I know from firsthand experience what itโs like to realize a lifelong dream. Ask anybody here at Local 4 whoโs the happiest guy in the building and thereโs no doubt that theyโll talk about me. I truly cherish every day I open the door and walk into the building -- itโs like being paid for my hobby! If you know a child with a dream, then you really need to show them this story. Itโs about a kid in Rochester Hills who loved science, grew up and eventually got a job at NASA and, just recently, was named to the cherished position of Flight Director.
Man arrested in Warren hate crime investigation
WARREN, Mich. โ A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hate crime investigation in Warren. It was exactly at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday when Eddie and Candace Hall heard about an arrest in their case. I ran in the house and I really caught the end of the news clip, so we were excited,โ said Candace Hall. Some people came by and prayed with us,โ said Eddie Hall. We canโt hurt each other for our beliefs,โ Candace Hall said.
Horse racing pundit John McCririck dead at 79
(CNN) - The legendary horse-racing broadcaster John McCririck, who was famed for his outlandish dress sense, has died at the age of 79, his family has announced. McCririck made his name as the face of British horse racing coverage, reporting from the betting ring for nearly three decades, first for ITV and then for Channel 4. "John's interest in horse racing and betting began at Harrow where he was the school bookie. Tony McCoy, a 20-time Champion Jockey, described him as "one of the most recognizable faces from the world of horse racing." "He was an unmistakable presence in racing, and one of the most impactful broadcasters of his generation," the racecourse wrote on Twitter.
