Incredibly, the Tigers came close to another walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th, but Akil Baddoo’s drive to right field was just a few feet foul. Paredes, the designated runner, scored a few pitches later on Mariners reliever J.T. Paredes was stranded at third when Thomas, the Mariners’ right fielder, made an impressive catch against the right-field wall to rob Niko Goodrum of extra bases.
