In the National League, Reds second baseman Jonathan India received 29 of 30 first-place votes to beat out Miami Marlins left-handed pitcher Trevor Rogers and St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson. Other notable Reds who won the award include Johnny Bench (1968), Pete Rose (1963) and Frank Robinson (1956). He’s the first second baseman to win the award since Steve Sax did so in 1982.
