Juan Francisco's two-run, opposite-field double snapped a tie game in the eighth inning, and Johan Miesas followed with a two-run homer to lead the Dominican Republic past South Korea on Saturday to claim the bronze medal of the baseball tournament at the Tokyo Olympics.
Singer shuts down Tigers in Kansas City’s 4-0 win
DETROIT – Brady Singer was stellar for a second straight start, allowing two hits in six innings, and the Kansas City Royals blanked the Detroit Tigers 4-0 on Wednesday night. The rookie right-hander struck out the first five Detroit hitters and retired the first 10. Detroit stranded two runners against him in the fourth, and that's as close as the Tigers came to scoring.
