High-speed fiber with internet speeds up to 800G expanding in downtown Kalamazoo
KALAMAZOO, MI -- A high-speed fiber optic network is expanding in downtown Kalamazoo, and connections will be offered for those adjacent to the expanding grid. 123NET confirmed to MLive/Kalamazoo Gazette it is laying fiber in and around Exchange Alley, expanding its network infrastructure in the area to provide high-speed internet services to businesses and residents. Exchange Place between Corporation Alley and Rose Street will be closed March 20, through March 31 for the fiber installation work. Corporation Alley between Devisser Alley and Exchange Place will be closed April 1 through April 14 for the work. The fiber network in Kalamazoo will be interconnected with 123NET’s existing 4,500 miles of fiber in the state and to several major data centers, as well as the company’s Detroit Internet Exchange, 123NET said.
