His legacy has lived on, however, and it comes to the forefront every spring for the annual Don Knight Memorial Softball Invitational, which takes place Saturday at the Bulldogs’ West Campus Athletic Complex. The host Bulldogs are set to face Martin (10 a.m.), Delton Kellogg (noon) and Gobles (2 p.m.) in the 15th installment of the softball invitational, which began a year after Knight’s death. “Now, being in my senior year, it means a lot playing in it, and I take a little more pride during this tournament. Knight’s oldest daughter and Abby’s mother, Nicole Knight-Lucas, remembers talking to her father on the phone and arranging to meet him at the softball tournament later in the day.

Family of Pontiac woman found buried in Ohio shocked by tragedy

PONTIAC, Mich. A Pontiac womans body was discovered the day her grandfather passed away. The woman was studying to become a nurse and leaves behind a four year old daughter. McKenzies body was discovered buried in a park after investigators got a tip about a woman missing under suspicious circumstances. Her four year old daughter Natalie went to live with her biological father in Howell. The family is holding a candle light vigil at Pontiac City Hall at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
