Police responding to ‘active and dangerous’ shooting scene at Hampton Inn in Dearborn
DEARBORN, MI – Police from multiple departments are responding to an “active and dangerous” shooting situation in Dearborn. The Michigan State Police and Dearborn Police Department say the biggest danger to residents is in the area around a Hampton Inn at 22324 Michigan Avenue, between Military Street and Monroe Street, but added that the entire downtown Dearborn area should be avoided. The Michigan State Police said there are still shots being fired by the suspect. “Troopers and officers are working on clearing the entire area around the hotel,” they said in a statement. “Please stay away from the area as this is an active situation and extremely dangerous to the public.”This story will be updated when more information is available.

Death of Evanston man, 34, found shot in Skokie hotel room ruled homicide
Dyrek Coleman, 34, of the 2100 block of Church Street, Evanston, was found in a room at the Hampton Inn, 5021 Old Orchard Road, according to a news release. Coleman died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Peyton King was last seen wearing a black jacket, white and black sweatpants and a red t-shirt. Mikha Pharmes was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and a green t-shirt. Ty-Reem Pharmes was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and a green t-shirt.
Arrest made in series of cash thefts at motels
Detectives from the Ann Arbor Police Department have arrested an Ann Arbor man in connection with a series of thefts of cash from various area motels, including the Hampton Inn in Dundee, that occurred Sept. 6. The thefts also occurred in Ann Arbor, Canton Township, Southgate, Livonia, Plymouth Township, Farmington Hills and Oakland County in Michigan and in Bowling Green, Ohio. Several agencies began tracking the suspect and he was arrested early Friday morning following a cash theft from a motel in the Ann Arbor area, Dundee Police announced on its Facebook page Friday. The suspect arrested robbed about a half-dozen motels in a week’s span, he said. A report on the Dundee theft was forwarded to the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office for local charges to be filed in addition to eight other charges being considered throughout the region, the department said.
