Royals make official Dozier deal for $25 million, four years
โ The Royals made official their $25 million, four-year contract with third baseman Hunter Dozier on Monday, ensuring that another member of their young foundation is under club control for the foreseeable future. And we want that to happen in Kansas City.โAdDozier's deal replaces a $2.72 million, one-year contract he agreed to on Dec. 2. He gets a $1 million signing bonus and will earn $2.25 million this year, $4.5 million in 2022, $7.25 million in 2023 and $9 million in 2024. Dog food recall expanded: Unsafe levels of toxin produced by mold
A recall of dog food has been expanded to include products from more than a dozen brands. The recall is due to concerns over possible unsafe levels of a toxin produced by mold that can grow on corn and grains. Corn and grains are used as ingredients in pet foods. Teen hunter killed when run over by corn harvester near Caseville
CASEVILLE, Mich. โ A 14-year-old deer hunter who possibly fell asleep in a farm field was killed when he was run over by a corn harvester in Michiganโs Thumb region, police said. Emergency workers were called about 9 a.m. Saturday to the cornfield in a rural area near the Huron County city of Caseville after a farm worker spotted the boy soon after accidentally driving over him, according to the county sheriffโs office. The boy from the nearby city of Elkton had been dropped off earlier for deer hunting at the field and might have fallen asleep, the sheriffโs office said. The farm worker wasnโt aware that anyone was in the field. The boyโs identity wasnโt immediately released by authorities and an autopsy was expected to be performed in the coming days.

Abandoned baby giraffe befriended by dog in Africa dies

Orphanage staff had expected this to happen, assuming that the mother giraffe had abandoned the baby for a reason, Arrie van Deventer, the orphanage's founder, told The Associated Press. โSo we finally know that Jazz didn't have a bad giraffe mother that left him," the orphanage's statement said. The baby giraffe had arrived a few weeks ago, just days after birth. The giraffe was buried close to the orphanage, van Deventer said.

The Wall Street Journal was first to report that Trump pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the July phone call to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's son Hunter, citing multiple people familiar with the matter. Now, the Journal is reporting that Trump not only discussed Biden with Zelensky during that phone call but urged the Ukrainian President to use his personal lawyer to help investigate the former vice president's son. Trump still pushing Biden claimAsked whether he'd discussed Biden with Ukraine's Zelensky during a phone call in late July, Trump said it "doesn't matter what I discussed," but insisted that someone should look into Biden. Appearing in a rambling interview on CNN on Thursday evening, Giuliani admitted he had discussed Biden with Ukraine's leaders during a visit to the country.
