Michigan Democrats unveiled a video Tuesday making the case that the state should be one of the first in the nation to hold a presidential primary in 2024. It’s part of an ongoing effort from Democrats to move the state ahead in the presidential primary order . In 2020, Michigan shared its presidential primary election day with 14 other states on Super Tuesday in March. Michigan Republican leadership, while not openly opposed, didn’t express interest. The full Democratic congressional delegation has penned a letter in favor of moving Michigan forward, Politico first reported, and two former chairs of the Michigan Republican party also wrote a letter in support.
