This is the first time Cronenworth has won Player of the Week honors. He was a third-team All-American in 2015 after hitting .338 with six home runs and 48 RBIs in 64 games.

Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis is the unanimous winner of the American League Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year award. Lewis is the fourth rookie from the Seattle Mariners to win the award. Williams is the seventh reliever to win the NL rookie of the year award, but the first without a save. AL rookie relievers have won the award five times. Williams is the third Brewer to win the award, joining Ryan Braun (NL, 2007) and Pat Listach (AL, 1992).

Lewis batted just .147 in September, and Robert hit .136 with 32 strikeouts in 23 games in the final month. This season, Williams teamed with closer Josh Hader to form a shutdown tandem at the back end of the Brewers’ bullpen.

Betts, who won the 2018 AL MVP award with Boston, helped the Dodgers win the World Series last week for the first time since 1988. Frank Robinson is the only player to win the MVP award in both leagues, accomplishing the feat in 1961 with Cincinnati and 1966 for Baltimore.

The 26-year-old Cronenworth was a part of a blockbuster trade this winter that also sent outfielder Tommy Pham to the Padres. In three years at Michigan, he hit .312 with 10 home runs, 117 RBIs and 42 stolen bases in 180 games.
