Seahawks general manager John Schneider has rejected reported interest from the Detroit Lions and signed an extension with Seattle through the 2027 draft.
Asked by MLive about that report, Lions team president Rod Wood declined to confirm or deny.
I don’t know where they get started, but I have no comment on that.”Schneider’s extension whittles Detroit’s pool of general manager candidates to 12: Former Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff, former Texans general manager Rick Smith, former Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli, ESPN analyst Louis Riddick, Saints assistant general manager for pro personnel Terry Fontenot, Rams college scouting director Brad Holmes, Vikings assistant general manager George Paton, Saints assistant general manager Jeff Ireland, Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds and internal candidates Rob Lohman, Lance Newmark and Kyle O’Brien.
All the other candidates have already interviewed with the team.
One, Paton, is also a finalist in Denver and is flying there today for a second interview according to ESPN.
