While many Republicans have dismissed QAnon, the fundraiser is another sign of how the conspiracy theory is gaining a foothold in the party. Representatives for the Trump campaign didn't immediately comment on the fundraiser. Trump's national security adviser recovers from COVID-19
WASHINGTON President Donald Trump's national security adviser, who tested positive for the coronavirus, returned to work Tuesday after recovering from a mild case of COVID-19, the White House said. Robert O'Brien has resumed his meetings with the president, said National Security Council spokesman John Ullyot. During his quarantine at home, Ambassador OBrien worked his normal duties. The administration said there was no risk of exposure to the president or Vice President Mike Pence. White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said earlier that OBriens daughter also contracted the virus and that that is how officials think he was exposed.
Watchdog group: Trump campaign improperly masking payments
Trump communications director Tim Murtaugh disputed the allegations and said the "campaign complies with all campaign finance laws and FEC regulations.Most of the payments by Trump's campaign committees were made to American Made Media Consultants, which has received at least $177 million since 2018, according to FEC records. The campaign said that American Made Media Consultants was formed to purchase advertising directly and save money by not relying on middlemen. It builds efficiencies and saves the campaign money by providing these in-house services that otherwise would be done by outside vendors, Murtaugh said. "The campaign reports all payments to AMMC as required by the FEC.Brendan Fischer, an attorney with the Campaign Legal Center, said the campaign is improperly avoiding mandatory disclosure. Trump lags Biden on people of color in top campaign ranks
Twenty-five percent of the Republican president's senior staff are nonwhite, compared to 36% of Bidens senior staff. Along with adding more people of color to his campaign, Biden has promised an administration that looks like America if he is elected on Nov. 3. His campaign declined to discuss minority representation on the campaign staff. The Biden campaign said LGBTQ staff and staff of color hold such positions as senior advisers, deputy campaign managers, national coalitions director, chief financial officer, chief operating officer and national press secretary, among others. Trumps campaign defined its senior staff as senior leaders who meet regularly to make decisions.
South Dakota governor, exposed to virus, joined Trump on jet

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said last week that Trump may more frequently opt to turn to outdoor venues to host his campaign speeches. Trump and his campaign hyped his formal return to the campaign trail with last months Tulsa rally, which ultimately ended in a disappointing turnout and an outbreak of the virus among staff and Secret Service agents. A joint fundraising committee formed by President Donald Trump's campaign and the Republican National Committee is expanding its reach by putting finance chairs in all 50 states as the general election race gets under way. The heads of Trump Victory briefed its top bundlers Tuesday by phone about steps to expand the group's already formidable war chest. Guilfoyle and Bailey told the Trump-RNC financiers that they are planning to deploy multiple finance chairs to every state, these people added. The Trump Victory committee has been a key weapon for the president's reelection bid. Trump Victory, the Trump campaign, the RNC and other fundraising committees combined to raise over $212 million in the first quarter.
