Crash, vehicle fire temporarily close M-52 in Saginaw County
SWAN CREEK TWP, MI -- The M-52 highway at South Graham in Saginaw County’s Swan Creek Township is closed until further notice after a vehicle crashed and caught fire late Sunday, March 5. Saginaw County 911 issued a media alert at 8 p.m. asking drivers to avoid the area. There are injuries reported, but no other additional information at this time. LENAWEE COUNTY, MI -- A Lenawee County resident is hospitalized in serious condition after being hit by a truck Wednesday, police said. Troopers from the Michigan State Police Monroe Post responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at about 6:50 a.m. Oct. 6, on M-52 south of M-50 in Franklin Township in northern Lenawee County, police said. The pedestrian was taken to ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital in Adrian with life-threatening injuries, police said. M-52 between M-50 and W. Russell Road was closed for about three hours as a result of the incident, police said. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Raisin Township Police Department, Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Tecumseh Fire and Rescue and Lenawee Community Ambulance.

Police shut down M-52 near Morrice Road in Owosso Township, around 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21 to investigate the hit-and-run crash, according to a news release by the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Department. A pickup truck that was northbound struck a 41-year-old Owosso man, according to the release. The sheriff’s department did not release the condition of the man who was hit and investigators were not immediately available for comment. OWOSSO, Mich. – Officials said a driver going south on M-52 lost control of the vehicle at a high rate of speed on a curve and crashed. Deputies from the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on M-52 near Juddville Road at 12:12 p.m. on Thursday. It happened in front of the Shiawassee Conservation Association. Deputies said they are seeking charges on the driver who they believe was operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash. The driver was transported to a hospital for minor injuries, according to officials.
