Warren neighbors help WWII veteran get COVID vaccine
WARREN, Mich. – When we get older, we’d all be extremely luck to have neighbors like Bob and Debbie Geib. “No computer,” Bob Geib said. “Just a land line.”You would think a 94-year-old World War II veteran would be at the top of the vaccine list, but he’s not. “It was my duty,” Peischl recalled. Meijer stores said they are now partnering with the federal government and many more vaccine doses are on the way.
Meijer recalls whole, cut cantaloupe sold in Michigan due to salmonella risk
Meijer stores have announced a recall of whole cantaloupe and select cut cantaloupe fruit trays and bowls due to a potential risk of salmonella. Officials announced Wednesday a voluntary recall of whole and cut cantaloupe sold at Meijer stores between September 26 and October 5 in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin. The recalled cantaloupe products originated from Eagle Produce, LLC in Aguila, Arizona, officials said. Customers who purchased recalled products should not consume them -- recalled products can be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for a full refund. Select cut cantaloupe products may have also been used in Meijer’s store-made products.
