Man drowns at Milan Beach on Memorial Day
MONROE COUNTY, MI – A Toledo man drowned at Milan Beach in Milan Township on Monday, May 30. Police were called at 6:24 p.m. on Memorial Day to Milan Beach located at 16339 Cone Road off U.S. 23 for a man who was at the beach and had not been seen for two hours, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The Monroe County Dive Team searched the water where they soon found the missing man, police said. The drowning remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The Milan Township Fire Department, Dundee Township Fire Department, Dundee Police Department, Monroe Community Ambulance along and one of the Sheriff’s Office Chaplains assisted at the scene.

MILAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. A 17-year-old boy accidentally drowned at Milan Beach on Saturday afternoon, police said. At around 5:48 p.m. the Monroe County Sheriffs Office responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a boy was missing and had presumably drowned, officials said. Upon arrival the family of the teen, identified as Jorge Delgadillo-Flores of Inkster, told police that he had been struggling to swim before he went under water and they hadnt seen him since. The sheriffs dive team located the boy about 30 feet off shore near where he was last seen, officials said. Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call 734-243-7070.
