Metro Detroit community leaders urge residents to put away guns on New Year’s Eve
METRO DETROIT – Reverend Nicholas Hood, III, along with former Detroit Police Chief Ike McKinnon and other local leaders are urging residents to not bring in the New Year with celebratory gunfire. The campaign was started in 1997 after Sandra Latham, a Detroit grandmother, was killed by celebratory gunfire sitting in her dinning room. Video from Jan. 1, 2020 captured celebratory gunfire for nearly three minutes. Incidents from celebratory gunfire isn’t limited to Metro Detroit. 2020 when celebratory gunfire struck her in the neck.
Man arrested in Las Vegas kidnapping caught on surveillance video
(Warning: Video contains graphic content)(Reuters) - Las Vegas police said on Thursday they have arrested a man suspected of kidnapping and assaulting a woman on New Years Day in a violent scene recorded on a home surveillance video. The video circulated by police shows the woman sobbing as she runs from a car toward the homes front door. The attacker grabs the woman, throws her to the ground and kicks her in the stomach as she cries. Why would you do that? the man says as he drags the woman back toward the car. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified the suspect arrested on Thursday as Darnell Rodgers, 23.

Many branded drugmakers have pledged to keep their U.S. list price increases below 10% a year, under pressure from politicians and patients. Drugmakers often negotiate rebates on their list prices in exchange for favorable treatment from healthcare payers. Bristol-Myers said in a statement it will not raise list prices on its drugs by more than 6% this year. Gilead raised prices on more than 15 drugs including HIV treatments Biktarvy and Truvada less than 5%, according to 3 Axis.
