Fundraiser for businesses impacted by fire in Holly to take place in August
It’s been nearly a month since a massive fire devastated a city block in downtown Holly. The historic Holly Hotel, Andy’s Place, the Elks Lodge, and Antique Mall is all out of commission right now, causing workers to be displaced, but help is on the way.
Massive fire in Downtown Holly changes plans for future weddings, events
A fire badly damaged four buildings Tuesday in Downtown Holly. It took crews one million gallons of water to put the fire out. Many of the downtown businesses were closed Wednesday due to smoke and water damage and power outages. Consumers Energy turned the power off in the area as crews battled flames and have to inspect businesses before they return the power.
Crews extinguish fire at Ascension Rochester Hospital, no injuries reported
ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Fire crews were dispatched Thursday morning to Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital on reports of a fire. According to authorities, the call came in at about 8:45 a.m. and when fire crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the second floor of the building. Authorities said the hospital’s sprinkler system held the fire back until fire crews were able to extinguish the fire. Rochester Hills Fire Department had help from fire crews from Waterford, Bloomfield Township, Troy, Oakland Township and Auburn Hills. The fire investigation will be handled by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
Woman rushes to help when Northville condos struck by lightning, catch fire
NORTHVILLE, Mich. I can tell you, I heard a big bang around 12 something, like lightning or something that hit someplace, said Katherine Lawrence. Thats when she went to her window, I can see my neighbor next door, flames coming from the back of the house, said Lawrence. She knocked on her neighbors door to try and wake them up, Pound, pound and you could just see the flames coming in there, theyre an older couple. They finally came out, and I just went from house to house, and bang on their doors, to wake them up. From the flames, you could see sparks going up and I heard a boom, like something inside the house might have exploded, said Foley.
