A teenager has been charged as a juvenile after his 2-year-old brother got ahold of his unattended firearm and shot himself with it in their Detroit home.

A 16-year-old boy is in police custody Thursday after he is accused of leaving a loaded weapon on a bed that his toddler brother used to shoot himself in their Detroit home.

A 3-year-old boy shot himself early Thursday morning after finding a gun that was left on a bed in his Detroit home, police said.

A two-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself on Detroit’s east side. Police say the boy found his mother’s gun that was unlocked in his bedroom.
