Michigan’s first brew pub, Traffic Jam & Snug destroyed in fire Friday morning
DETROIT -- A massive fire broke out early Friday morning at the popular Traffic Jam & Snug in Midtown Detroit, and officials say the building is a total loss. According to Fox 2 Detroit, firefighters battled the blaze for several hours before clearing the scene around 6 a.m. Although the restaurant is going to need to be rebuilt, the fire does not appear to have damaged the nearby Shinola store and Third Man Records, according to WDIV-Detroit. The eatery was known for its menu full of homemade breads, cheeses, pies, cookies and more. According to the Traffic Jam & Snug website, the brewpub was Michigan’s first of its kind when it launched in December 1992.
