Police running training drills at University of Michigan dorm on North Campus
ANN ARBOR, MI - Officers of University of Michigan’s Division of Public Safety and Security are conducting training exercises Wednesday and Thursday at a North Campus dormitory. The training is taking place between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m., June 1-2, within a fenced area around the Northwood III buildings, police said. The Northwood III apartment buildings will be replaced by three buildings in a $190-million UM project intended to expand North Campus housing. The project involves the current Northwood III buildings being demolished, with completion of the new buildings scheduled for 2024. University of Michigan professor and Ann Arbor real estate guru retires after 4 decades
ANN ARBOR, MI - Peter Allen of Ann Arbor has carried many titles in his 76-year life. The lecturer of real estate development at University of Michigan’s Ross Business School is retiring, and his last class is on Feb. 22. This passion for real estate development was apparent in the classroom, said many of his former students. Beyond the passion and social skills built in Allen’s classroom were the building blocks of successful real estate development, Fitzsimmons said. U-M police: Person of interest in armed robbery on North Campus in custody
ANN ARBOR – The University of Michigan Police Department announced on Tuesday it has a person of interest in custody in an armed robbery that took place on North Campus on Saturday. When the victim approached the vehicle, the suspect pulled a gun and demanded he give him the property before fleeing in an unknown direction. U-M Police Department’s Safety and Security Tips:If selling or buying goods, meet in the Safe Exchange Zone or other neutral, populated and well-lit areas. If you are in need of a safe place for an in-person exchange of goods, DPSS has established a “Safe Exchange Zone.”Do not disclose unnecessary personal details and avoid meeting at your home. U-M sets up mobile food pantry on North Campus twice a month
ANN ARBOR – University of Michigan Student Life’s Maize & Blue Cupboard is now setting up a mobile food pantry twice a month on North Campus. The mobile distribution center sets up at Northwest Lot 10 along Hubbard and east of Murfin every other Wednesday and will run through Nov. 18. MAIZE & BLUE CUPBOARD ON NORTH@umich's effort to provide equitable access to healthy, nutritious and nourishing food to students, faculty and staff will be setting up a mobile food distribution center on North Campus tomorrow!
