When the Detroit Tigers dropped pitcher Beau Burrows from the roster as part of a flurry of moves earlier this week, the only surprise was that it had taken this long. In 2018, the Tigers even re-signed a former first-round pick, Jacob Turner, and gave him another look six years after he was traded. And let’s not forget that Avila has kept Burrows on the 40-man roster for exactly 573 days. In fact, Del Pozo has already been optioned back to Toledo, although he remains on the 40-man roster.
