Demolition of the Stony Creek Road bridge in Washtenaw County will cause road and freeway closures in the area through November.

YORK TOWNSHIP, Mich. An oncoming driver and three dogs were killed Tuesday when one of the six dogs inside a womans car jumped into her lap and caused her to cross the center line and crash head-on into another vehicle in Washtenaw County, police said. A 71-year-old woman was driving east on Willis Road in York Township around 5:35 p.m. Tuesday with six dogs inside the car, according to authorities. One of the dogs jumped into the womans lap when she was near Bolla Road, causing her to lose control and cross the center line, police said. She crashed head-on into a westbound vehicle driven by Cyril Berry Jr., 73, of York Township, officials said. Three dogs were killed in the crash, police said.
