Crews to remove semi truck later after crash on I-96; cleanup to take 8 hours

Semi truck left on I-96 until Thursday evening

NOVI, Mich. – Crews are going to come back to I-96 later in the evening to remove a semi truck because the cleanup is expected to take about eight hours.

The semi truck crashed early Thursday morning, April 18, 2024, in the eastbound lanes of I-96, near Beck Road.

Eastbound I-96 was shut down between Beck and Novi roads after the crash, but it has been reopened with the crashed semi truck still there.

Cleanup is expected to begin around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and it could take about eight hours. The eastbound lanes are expected to close from 6:30 p.m. Thursday until about 3 a.m. Friday.

No additional information about the crash has been revealed.
