Cheboygan moves to 'set' stage as dam water levels rise; Evacuations near Croton Dam underway

The water level at the Cheboygan Dam is less than 6 inches from the top of the dam, moving the emergency stage from "ready" to "set" for residents, meaning that people should have a bag packed and are prepared to leave. Cheboygan isn't the only area of Michigan facing dam problems, and residents along the Muskegon River near the Croton Dam were ordered to evacuate on Thursday.
