Leland House residents get answers after 4 months of displacement
Four months after a power failure forced them out of their Detroit high-rise, Leland House residents have reached an agreement to retrieve their belongings from the 21-story building. The building lost power in December after electrical equipment failed, leaving tenants without lights or elevator access. Since then, the property has been tied up in bankruptcy court while many displaced residents have been staying at a Southfield hotel paid for by the City of Detroit.
