Metro Detroit weather: Rain arrives as cool week continues

Temperatures drop to mid-30s Wednesday

DETROIT – Get set to get wet.

Clouds will increase Tuesday night ahead of a wet afternoon Wednesday. Expect temperatures to drop to the low and mid-30s by daybreak.

Wednesday will start with overcast skies before rain arrives in the afternoon. Highs will still reach the mid-40s, despite the rain. We'll have breezy conditions to finish the day, with winds at 10-20 mph. Deer hunters heading up north will be wet much of the day, with rain starting around sunrise.

Dry conditions will last from Wednesday night through the end of the work week. High temperatures will remain in the mid-40s, but Friday’s start will be in the 20s for everyone.

The weekend doesn't look so nice. A cold front will bring rain Saturday, and a few snow showers are possible Sunday. Temperatures might touch 50 degrees in spots Saturday, before dropping to highs in the 30s Sunday.

A sneak peek for travelers during Thanksgiving week: There will be dry conditions and below-normal temperatures throughout our region. An early look at Thanksgiving shows dry conditions, with highs in the upper 40s.
