4Warn Weather – After a taste of winter with temperatures in the 20s and 30s on Monday morning, get ready for spring-like weather.

Monday night

Monday night will bring increased clouds as a warm front approaches the area.

A stray shower is possible, but the better chance of showers will be north of I-69. Most of us in Southeast Michigan and Southwestern Ontario will remain dry with mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will be near normal, with lows in the lower to mid-40s.

Tuesday

Then, the spring-like weather returns on Tuesday. It will be mostly sunny and milder as a warm air mass positions itself over the Great Lakes. Highs are expected to reach and exceed 70 degrees.

This will be one of the better days of the week for outdoor activities, but the winds may be a slight issue. Winds will be out of the south-southwest at eight to 16 mph. Gusts may reach as high as 25 mph. Clouds will increase, and a few showers will be possible on Tuesday night as a cold front nears. Lows will be in the upper 50s.

Averages and records

Normal highs and lows for Tuesday’s date, Oct. 24, are 59 and 41 degrees, respectively. Temperatures will be shy of the record high of 81 degrees, which was set in 1963.

Week ahead

The cold front will move slowly and stall at times over the Midwest, which will result in rain chances for the rest of the week. High temperatures will be above normal for the workweek, but cooler air will arrive for the weekend. The air will be even chillier for the final days of October, with high temperatures only in the 40s.
