Flurries possible Monday before days of sunshine in Metro Detroit

Normal to above normal temperatures expected all week in Southeast Michigan

Temperatures cooled more than 20 degrees from the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 9 to Sunday, Dec. 10. Despite the drastic cool down, high temperatures were expected to be normal to slightly above normal over the next several days.

It feels cool, but temperatures are simply back to normal. After record warmth on Saturday, parts of Southeast Michigan have seen both light rain and snow showers a day later.

Sunday’s high temperature of 43 degrees at Detroit Metro Airport is 20 degrees cooler than Saturday’s record-breaking high, but several degrees higher than the date’s average high of 39 degrees.

Monday

Metro Detroit will have a mix of sun and clouds as skies range from partly cloudy to mostly cloudy on Monday. There is a chance of a few flurries. Highs will be in the upper 30s.

Rest of Week

Then, chances for sunshine will increase. High-pressure systems will help to limit the formation of clouds over Southeast Michigan for much of the week.

The partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies will last through the rest of the workweek. Daily highs will be in the upper 30s to the mid 40s. Lows will be close to normal in the mid 20s to mid 30s with the milder temperatures toward the end of the week.

Skies will become mostly cloudy next weekend, including the chance of rain showers on Saturday.
