Above-normal temperatures continue in the final days of December.
Rain showers and areas of fog will continue into Thursday evening, but the chance of rain will decrease late at night. Lows will be in the mid to upper 30s. Winds will shift from the southeast to the south-southwest at 3 to 6 mph.
Normal temperatures in the remaining days of December are 34 degrees for the high and 22 degrees for the low.
Friday
It will be cloudy with scattered rain showers Friday. The chance of rain will increase in the afternoon. It will be a few degrees cooler across much of the area with highs in the lower 40s. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Saturday
Sunshine will return for Saturday as much of the area sees partly cloudy skies. Southeast Michigan will also get a break from the rain. Highs will be in the lower 40s. Lows will be around 30 degrees.
Sunday
Clouds will build and showers will develop over the region Sunday. Showers are likely to begin as rain over Metro Detroit, but snow showers will be possible in the evening as many New Year’s Eve celebrations get underway. The daytime highs will be in the upper 30s to 40 degrees. Overnight lows will be in the upper 20s.
New Year’s Day
The first day of 2024 will bring dry weather and mostly cloudy skies. As temperatures return to near normal, highs will be in the mid 30s.
