Multiple windows of rain over next few days: What to know for Metro Detroit

Highs in the 50s

4Warn Weather – We’re feeling noticeably warmer this Thursday morning.

That’ll tee us up for temperatures to top out about 20 degrees above average today -- meaning 50s in February!

Expect most of the day to be partly sunny and dry. Temps will be warmer with highs in the mid-50s this afternoon.

Tonight’s sunset is at 5:56 p.m.

There is a chance for a passing shower this evening just after sunset.

The rain will move from west to east, and should push out before midnight. Lows tonight will be incredibly mild in the upper 40s.

Even warmer with more rain

We’ll continue to see a warming trend on Friday. Highs will inch close to 60 degrees, which would crush the current record high of 56 degrees set in 2001.

We could see a few spotty sprinkles early Friday around 8 a.m. Those spotty showers should move out by 10 a.m.

Skies will clear after then, allowing for some sunshine.

Southerly winds will pick up, gust between 20-30 mph, and bring milder temperatures.

Cooler weekend with widespread rain

There is a better chance for widespread rain on Saturday morning. Showers will stretch across Southeast Michigan and will be widespread by 8 a.m. This window of rain will be pretty short, too, and the rain should be finished up by 11 a.m.

Otherwise, temperatures will be cooler Saturday, but steady throughout much of the day in the mid to upper 40s.

Sunday will be dry and colder with highs struggling to hit 40 degrees.

We’ll continue to slide back to reality next week with more seasonal temperatures making a return.

Elsewhere ...

Heavy snow is expected across the intermountain West and Rockies on Thursday. Winter weather advisories stretch into the northern Plains, with wind advisories in the Midwest.
