Oakland County man sentenced in murder of teen mother on I-94 17-year-old found shot in the head on freeway in 2022

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. – A 22-year-old Southfield man has been sentenced for his role in the murder of a teenage mother.
The body of 17-year-old Taya Land was found in October 2022 on I-94 , near 8 Mile Road in St. Clair Shores. She had been shot in the head three times .
Nathaniel Taylor was arrested and charged a week later . Authorities said he had an argument with Land, pushed her out of his vehicle and shot her. Police said he admitted to investigators that he fired shots at Land .
Taylor was sentenced to 17-50 years in jail for second-degree murder and two years for felony firearm. He had pleaded no contest to the charges in April.
