4Warn Weather – The near-record warmth continues tomorrow, but the warming trend will come to an end.
Temperatures jumped to around 60 degrees on Thursday afternoon in Metro Detroit. The high at Detroit Metro Airport was 61 degrees, which is just shy of the record of 62 degrees for Feb. 8.
With temperatures remaining mild, there will be a chance of isolated rain showers on Saturday night. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy and breezy. Winds will be out of the south-southwest at 10 to 20 mph, and gusts will approach 30 mph at times. Lows will be in the mid- to upper 40s.
On the final day of 60-degree weather this week, a few sprinkles will be possible on Friday morning, but most areas will be dry.
There will be a mix of sunshine and clouds as temperatures push into the upper 50s and lower 60s, setting a new record high.
The current record for Feb. 9 is 56 degrees, which was set in 2001. Apart from the unseasonably warm air, the wind will also be on the high end. Southwesterly winds will be 10 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 30 to 40 mph.
Friday
Friday night, it will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy and mild. Temperatures will still be in the upper 40s and lower 50s around midnight, but overnight temperatures will fall to the lower 40s before sunrise on Saturday. A few rain showers will be possible overnight.
Saturday
Rain showers will be in the area in the morning and early afternoon on Saturday. It will not be as warm as a cold front ushers in a cooler air mass. Temperatures will rise into the upper 40s to 50 degrees. It will be breezy. Lows will be around 30 degrees.
Sunday
Sunday, it will be mostly cloudy, with highs in the lower 40s. Metro Detroit’s normal high over the next several days is 34 degrees and the normal lows is 20 degrees. Next week, temperatures will be closer to normal.
