Metro Detroit to see sunshine, record temperatures before next chance for rain

Drier weather continues through Monday

Rain showers will move into the region throughout Tuesday (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After sunshine and mild temperatures to start the weekend, we will keep the sunshine into the forecast for the end of the weekend with temperatures continuing to warm up throughout the next couple of days. With the sunshine and a southerly flow across the region, high temperatures will remain well above average. High temperatures heading for the lower 60s by Sunday afternoon, but not forecasting record high temperatures For Sunday, but we will come close.

We keep a little cloud covered under the forecast overnight tonight; mild temperatures will continue. Overnight low, dropping into the upper 40s for everybody.

As we start the next work week, we will bring a little more cloud cover into the forecast but keep some sunshine as well. With a strong southerly flow continuing, we are forecasting record high temperatures by the time we get to Monday afternoon. The record high for Monday is 69°, and we’re forecasting 71° by the time we get to late Monday afternoon. More clouds will move into the region Monday night, with rain showers developing after midnight and sticking around into our Tuesday. With the rain showers, temperatures will be a little bit cooler but remaining mild. High temperatures dropping back into the lower 60s by Tuesday afternoon.

Drier weather sticks around for the middle of the week, expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds on Wednesday giving way to more sunshine than anything by Thursday. High temperature is into the lower 50s both days.

Our next chance of rain moves into the region by the end of the week and the start of next weekend. Expect rain showers to develop late Friday night with more cloud covers sticking around for the majority of the day before the rain moves in. High temperatures dropping into the upper 40s by the end of the week and also holding into the lower 40s with the rain showers, continuing looking ahead and into next Saturday.

  • Monday: Mixture of sunshine and clouds, continued unseasonably warm. Record high temperature forecast. (Current Record: 69°). High: 72. Winds: South 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 20 MPH.
  • Monday night: Mostly cloudy skies, rain develops after midnight. Low: 53. Winds: South 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 20 MPH.
  • Tuesday: Cloudy skies with a chance of rain showers. Continued mild. High: 62. Winds: South 10-15 MPH with gusts as high as 20 MPH.
