The weekend will not be a washout

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible looking ahead into part of the holiday weekend (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After a dry end of the week, we’re looking at chances for showers and thunderstorms this holiday weekend.

A few rain showers are possible early Saturday morning. Otherwise, we will see a decrease in cloud cover with skies going mostly sunny as we head into the afternoon. High temperature is warm as we head into the lower 80s by Saturday afternoon.

Mainly clear skies can be expected overnight tonight, overnight dropping into the mid to upper 50s for everyone.

Showers, thunderstorms move in Sunday

We will start the day with some sunshine on Sunday, then increase the cloud cover we had through the afternoon and into the evening.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening, some of those could be strong to possibly severe.

Damaging winds in excess of 60 miles an hour and large hail will be the primary threat, although heavy rainfall will also be possible with some thunderstorms. High temperatures heading for the upper 70s by Sunday afternoon.

Severe weather across Midwest

This will be part of a larger severe weather event over the next few days with a Moderate Risk (4 out of 5) for severe weather on Saturday down in the Midwestern United States, then moves into the Ohio Valley with an Enhanced Risk (3 out of 5) for severe weather forecast for Sunday. We will be clipped by this system but hold onto the chance for a few strong to severe thunderstorms on Sunday.

Chance of rain on Monday

We keep the chance of rain showers and clouds into the forecast. Looking ahead Memorial Day on Monday. High temperatures remaining into the low mid 70s by Monday afternoon.

Rest of week

Then we start to break up the cloud cover, bring a little sunshine into the forecast, but we also keep the chance of rain showers into the forecast as well for Tuesday. High temperatures remaining in the low 70s by Tuesday afternoon.

The rain around, looking ahead to Wednesday, before high-pressure moves into the region and dries us out. Lots of sunshine is expected Thursday and into the end of next week on Friday. High temperatures cooler, in the 60s looking ahead into Wednesday before we warm back into the 70s for the end of next week.
